today, we vote

Just some quick thoughts before polling time.

So the day has finally come. Over a week of campaigning, verging sometimes on personal attacks and mudslinging, have culminated to today. Today we decide where we will be going from here. Today will very likely be a turning point in the history of GE Singapore. Which is why when we go to our polling stations today and decide who should (ironically) be X-ed, we must remember to look past all the fancy slogans and passion fueled words, and really think about what we value, and if a particular party will be able to deliver on these things we value. Like I said, this GE is not without its share of mudslinging from both sides (which is quite disappointing). So we should, bearing in mind that this affects not only domestic issues but international ones as well, think about the type of people we want representing ourselves may it be in parliament or on the global platform.

It's time we, the so termed "politically apathetic generation" make a decision about something that is more than just about ourselves.

Let the polling begin!
