Lilypad's NTU course registration 101
This is so hilarious (to me at least) that I absolutely must share it.
The following is copied word for word from lilypad's blog:
Ordeal! Course Registration
Yes, it is time for the bi-annual course registration again. The pulse-racing, heart-stopping process we all know and hate. This is the recipe for ensuring that you get all the modules that you want:
Ingredients
1 accurate computer clock
1 (or 2 for the kiasu/kiasi) well-functioning Enter button
Good luck (amount up to individual)
1 strong heart
.
Steps
1. 5 minutes before registration starts, enter Stars Planner, not too early such that you get logged out due to inactivity and not too late so that you meet with a server jam and can't log in.
2. For the next 4 minutes, do the following:
- Check out how many vacancies are left. If the number is 1-digit, you need alot alot of luck - well, that or very little competition.
- Ensure that there is adequate activity from the time you log in, so that you don't get logged out.
- Make sure that your computer clock and the server clock are in sync.
- Check your timetable to make sure it is the right one. If the wrong timetable is sent in, registration will end in failure and chances of salvaging it will approach zero.
- Brace yourself for anything that may occur in the next few minutes.
.
3. Constantly check the clock. When it enters into the 4th minute, click on the send button. Obviously, one can't enter Stars as of yet, but after clicking on that button once, you can start attacking your Enter button. Pop-ups informing you that you are unable to enter Stars yet, but ignore that and for the next one minute, hit the Enter button continuously.
.
4. Keep your eyes trained to the pop-ups. When your clock shows that you have entered the 5th minute, a pop-up showing whether you have successfully registered will pop-up, instead of the previous message.
.
5. If pop-up shows that all course are registered, Congratulations! If not, go back to Stars Planner and chose another index number and pray for the best.
.
6. If registration ends in a disaster, do more good deeds in the coming semester to ensure that your good karma increases.
-
Disclaimer: Recipe varies according to individual, popularity of modules chosen, time of allocated registration and amount of luck. The "Enter" attack was tried and tested by Wanli, though she may not be the first to use it.
Totally cracked me up XD Loved the totally pseudo-cheerful, shopping centre announcer tone. Loved point number 6 too. HAHA...
